Critical Power Systems
The UPS, distribution and transfer paths that keep IT load online, integrated, started up and proven under load before the facility goes live.
Overview
Critical Power Systems
Critical power is where redundancy is either real or only on paper. SESG integrates and tests the power chain from distribution to the rack (UPS systems, busway, PDUs and RPPs) and proves the transfer paths behave the way the design says they will, under load, before anyone depends on them.
Part of the mission-critical service line on sesg.us.
In scope
- UPS systems integration and startup support
- Power distribution units (PDUs)
- Remote power panels (RPPs)
- Busduct and busway distribution
- Transfer and bypass path testing
- Load bank testing
- Redundancy verification (N, N+1, 2N)
- Alarm and monitoring point checks
How we run it
A process you can audit.
Four steps, the same on every project, documented as they happen.
- Integrate
UPS, distribution and RPP/PDU equipment integrated to the approved design and submittals.
- Start up
Energization and OEM startup coordinated, with component-level checks before functional testing.
- Prove each system
Normal, bypass, maintenance and failure modes tested against the sequence of operations.
- Prove the whole path
Transfer and redundancy behavior verified under simulated load during integrated systems testing.
Deliverables
What you receive.
- Startup recordsOEM startup results for each unit.
- Functional test resultsEvery mode, step by step.
- Load bank resultsPerformance under applied load.
- Redundancy verificationTransfer and failure behavior, documented.
